Chapter 1.02 is the 3rd chapter of Volume 1.

tl;dr[]

Erin discovered the delicious blue fruit had a strong chemical smell when its seed core was broken. This gave her an idea, and she used the fruit's core to get past the rock crab monster. Unfortunately, she encountered more Goblins collecting blue fruits. They chased her back to the inn, where she fought them off. Despite her injuries, Erin laughed with relief and leveled up as she was about to sleep. The smallest Goblin witnessed the unsuccessful attack on Erin and contemplated whether this encounter would change their lives.

Synopsis[]

Erin's POV[]

Erin found herself examining the large blue fruit in her hand. It had more seed than fruit inside but was sweet and delicious. She also discovered that breaking the seed core will release a strong chemical smell. After eating several blue fruits, she devised a plan to get past the rock crab monster using the fruit's seed pods, which proved effective. After being hit at the antenna, the giant crab freaked out, smashing itself with one of its claws and vigorously scraping at the area struck by the seed core.

Later, she encountered more Goblins collecting blue fruits. They bared their sharp teeth and advanced on her with knives, causing her to flee back to the inn. She frantically closed windows and doors before the Goblins broke in and attacked her. Initially frightened, Erin's fear turned to anger as she looked at the grinning face full of maliciousness that reminded her of young men from Earth. She fought back, using a wooden chair, and injured multiple Goblins. She grabbed a knife that one Goblin dropped and scared the remaining ones away. She laughed with relief, despite bleeding onto the inn's floor. As Erin was about to sleep, she was notified that she had leveled up again.

Little Goblin's POV[]

The smallest Goblin assigned to collect blue fruits witnessed the seven Goblin warriors unsuccessfully attacking a lone, unarmed human before retreating in defeat. The warriors urged the smaller ones to hurry up, and they returned to their cave, hurt and humiliated.

The Goblins had a hierarchical structure, and the only one with a name, the [Chieftain], led them. Despite being constantly angry, the [Chieftain] was also responsible for imparting skills to the Goblins, such as counting. The littlest Goblin, who had been keeping track of her age, tried to make sense of her world while living a difficult life that often involved scavenging for food. She continued to ponder the encounter with the strange Human, wondering if it would change anything in their lives.
