Chapter 1.05 is the sixth chapter of Volume 1.

Synopsis

Waking up to a throbbing hand, the new morning greets Erin with agony.  Despite the pain, hunger starts to affect her, and she begins to struggle through this tribulation.  She satiates herself on numerous ‘Blue Fruit’, before an even stronger calling motivates her to attend to her bathroom needs.  2 hours later she returns to the Inn, after a bout of topographical disorientation.  Looking at her still throbbing hand, Erin decides that the dirty bandages need changing, and begins searching the Inn for ‘not a knife’ to help remove the bandages.  During this search she finds food in the Inn that had been somehow preserved for a period of time long enough to allow the accumulation of 2 inches of dust throughout the kitchen.  Further investigation reveals glowing silver runes surrounding the cupboard with the edible food, and more runes surrounding all the cupboards throughout the kitchen, though not all appeared to be working.  After Erin was done with her inspection, by poking at the Runes, none of them were working.

After her attempts to change the bandage, Erin sits down and ponders over the discoveries she has made in the Inn, and why the place has been left like it has.  This leads her to ask the pertinent question to herself – how did the skeleton upstairs die?  To answer this, she heads back up to investigate, a taxing endeavour for her, as she confronts ‘Darkness my old enemy’.  This search is futile, as the skeleton has dissapeared.  Given Erin’s overactive imagination, it then becomes distressing for her, as she wonders how the skeleton left, and if it was hiding somewhere in the Inn.  This fear is amplified when Erin hears creaking from downstairs that slowly ascends up to the top floor where she herself is.  Thankfully it is just a goblin.  However, the goblin decided that Erin was easy prey, and readied itself to attack her, snarling.  Erin Solstice snarled back.

The rest of the Goblin ambush party, who had been waiting outside, relinquished their plans after the Goblin that had entered the Inn was forcibly evicted and thrown over their heads, a far different scenario then the screaming and helpless damsel they had envisaged.
