Chapter 2.29 is the thirty-second chapter of Volume 2.
Synopsis
Az'kerash is in his castle, doing [Necromancer] spellwork. His Lieutenant Venitra approaches him and they exchange words about the two armies close to the castle, and the runner who is approaching them. Az'kerash orders his follower to remain passive unless someone breaches his inner wards.
Ryoka has run from the Stonespears Tribe towards Az'kerash for four days now, and practiced her low-tier magic while talking to the Frost Faeries. The Faerie that usually accompanies her, suddenly warns her about a battle occuring right in front of her. Ryoka is discovered nevertheless, and hiding doesn't work for long. She is captured as a possible non-combattant, and led to Wall Lord Ilvriss for questioning.
Meanwhile, Zel Shivertail makes his plans: Unlike what he thinks Ilvriss is expecting, he will charge him right away instead of taking a defensive position, despite this not being his usual strategy.
