tl;dr[]

Ryoka and Erin exchange information and make plans. The Goblin Lord points Venitra and Ijvani towards Liscor. The Drake armies catch up to him.

Synopsis[]

  • Ryoka wakes up after Mrsha sits on her face. The two head down to breakfast where Erin and Lyonette are already awake serving Zel. The Horns come out from the basement to join them as do the other adventurers from their rooms. As Ryoka watches how busy Erin is she interrupts Jelaqua who is asking about her magical food. Ryoka tells the room that Erin is going to be with her for the day and Lyonette offers to finish serving breakfast while the two leave for Celum.
  • Before they leave Olesm arrives with big news about chess from one of the Walled Cities but Ryoka stops him after confirming it isn't a life and death situation. After the two and Mrsha leave through the magic door, Pawn and Bird arrive looking for Erin.
  • Ryoka takes them to the Runner's Guild and books one of the private rooms for her "client" Erin. Garia arrives and greets them but Ryoka hurries Erin up to the room. Ryoka isn't sure how to start the conversation but Ryoka mentions Lyonette telling her about Christmas. Ryoka struggles to encourage Erin before the Innkeeper's stomache growls, having skipped out before she could have breakfast.
  • Ryoka returns to the receptionist to order snacks who's skeptical of Erin's importance, but Fals arrives and catches on to Ryoka's hints and helps persuade the receptionist.
  • Ryoka returns and the two begin to talk more comfortably, Mrsha is handed off to Garia and Fals while the two Earthers talk. Ryoka begins to share her worries about Mrsha, about how she feels responsible but it isn't fair on the child to not have someone to look after her. Erin advises her that Ryoka can just get help when she's away and spend as much time as possible together when Ryoka's around.
  • Erin begins to talk about killing Toren, but Ryoka wonders if he's really dead and references the rule of monsters. They move onto Ryoka's visit to Magnolia and Ryoka's conclusion that Ressa is a Ninja before she shortly mentions the assassin attack. Erin then tells Ryoka about how she introduced the plays to the Frenzied Hare and tells her how surprised she was about Agnes not being as good a person as she initially thought. Ryoka tells her that Agnes is just a normal person.
  • Erin tells Ryoka that if there's something that she needs to do then she'll ask people she can trust to fix it, at least for the people around her if not the world. Ryoka suggests that Erin hires someone after she finds herself so busy all the time and Erin finally realises that she can do just that. She resolves to start asking Safry and Maran for candidates right after they're done talking.
  • Erin also decides to expand her inn and after talking through her new skills Ryoka suggests spending a day to cook all the food for the Wandering Inn and just have the staff heat it up when it needs to be served thanks to Erin's [Field of Preservation]. Ryoka also decides that she wants to test the limits of the magical door.
  • As Erin is writing down notes for what to do, Ryoka mentions her trip back on the Winter Solstice, but Erin just shows her the coin she received on the same day and tells her about her meeting with her mysterious guests. Erin talks about her meeting with Teriarch and then decides on her plan: build the inn, hire people and sell food to the Adventurers. Ryoka wants to learn Faerie magic from ivolethe, get magical items and potions to become a Courier in order to get to First Landing and get a ship to Wistram.
  • The two continue talking about Invrisil and the Players, but eventually they leave alongside a very well fed Mrsha. Meanwhile Ivolethe watches from outside as the two talk, she heads south to watch the Goblin Lord's arm meeting with Az'kerash's servants Venitra and Ijvani. The two tell the Goblin Lord they are heading to Liscor and he points them in the correct direction, the opposite way they came from. The next day the two armies sent to battle the Goblin Lord meet a hundred miles southeast of Liscor.
