Chapter 5.30 G is the thirty-second chapter of Volume 5, and chapter 10 of Book 8, Blood of Liscor.

tl;dr[]

Reiss meets with Garen and Tremborag. Pyrite figures out Laken's spy poles and let them be destroyed.

Synopsis[]

At Lord Tyrion’s camp multiple lords and ladies, chief among them Lord Gralton and Lord Yitton Byres, question his motives and willingness to battle considering the long wait the army has already been under. Tyrion, having just received news about long awaited reinforcements about to join his army, strikes camp.

Garen and Tremborag parlay with the Goblin Lord, the latter trying to convince and expecting the two chieftains to join his tribe. They refuse, and Reiss reveals he’s had prior dealings and promises with Garen. The three and their small entourages come to blows. Undead come to Reiss aid, and together with his death magic they drive Tremborag and Garen off. The two chieftains flee back to their mountain home as Garen hears howls in the distance. The Goblin Lord’s army is on their heels.

Rags' roving Redfang warriors raze the countryside, even as they’re being constantly harried by Emperor Laken’s forces. She comes to the conclusion that the spying magic isn’t omniscience, that traps still work and quick tactics can’t be countered in time. Still, tired, she sounds the retreat.

Pyrite, still with the main Flooded Waters Tribe being harried, uses his little free time to think and collect information on their opponent. From the trickle of goblins returning to the fallen human city Pyrite gathers enough information to pick up on the eye totems being essential for their opponent’s spying. He sends goblins out to search and destroy more totems.

Day 104. Laken is immensely worried about the loss of totems and thereby sight for him. The army he sent arrives at the city, with trebuchets, and lays siege. Rags, flabbergasted at the trebuchets firing, has a plan.
