Lettered Chapters

Lettered Chapters are those which Pirateaba adds a letter suffix to the end of their chapter number.

These chapters mostly focus on a different perspective than Erin and The Wandering Inn. Usually the letter suffix will stand for the specific character and perspective the chapter focuses on. There are several common recurring letters in the series. In Volume 1, lettered chapters had their own chapter numbering system but in subsequent volumes the chapters began to follow the same numbering as the rest while just appending the letter at the end. (Chapters of Volume 2 originally had their own numbers as well, but that was subsequently changed).

Single Lettered Chapters

Thus far there have been A, B, C, D, E, G, H, I, K, L, M, N, O, P, R, S, and T chapters throughout the story. Each of the lettered chapters are listed below.

A Chapters

The A suffix has been used for 2 chapters, one in Volume 6 for Az’kerash and one in Volume 7 focusing on the Antinium.

B Chapters

The B suffix has been used for 3 chapters, each in a different volume and featuring a different character. The B Chapter in Volume 4 stood for the Butler Reynold Ferusdam, the B Chapter in Volume 5 stood for Bird, and the B Chapter in Volume 7 stood for BlackMage.

C Chapters

The C suffix has been used for chapters focusing on Tom the Clown and Rhir starting in Volume 2. C chapters have been featured in volumes 2, 4, and 7. Thus far there has been 9 C Chapters.

Note: It is possible to read them apart of the context of the rest of the series, although Interlude - 1 and Chapter 6.68 provide additional context.

D Chapters

The D suffix has been used for chapters focusing on Geneva the [Doctor], Ken the [Diplomat] and the Daquin Games. All of them focus on Baleros, starting in Volume 3. D chapters have been featured in volumes 3, 4, 6, and 7. Thus far there has been 17 D Chapters.

Note: It is possible to read them largely apart of the context of the rest of the series, up to Chapter 6.06 D. Afterwards, Niers and his students play a much larger role and the rest of the series is needed for more context.

E Chapters

The E suffix has been used for chapters focusing on [Emperor] Laken Godart and the Unseen Empire / Riverfarm starting in Volume 3. E Chapters have been featured in Volumes 3-7. Additionally volume 7 had a chapter which combined the E suffix with another letter due to a combined narrative, this was the ER Chapter. Thus far there has been 28 E Chapters.

G Chapters

The G suffix has been used for chapters focusing on Goblins, especially Rags and the Flooded Waters Tribe starting in Volume 2. G were heavily featured in volume 5 while also appearing in volumes 2, 3, 4, and 7. Thus far there has been 27 G Chapters.

The H suffix has been used for chapters focusing on the Horns of Hammerad starting in Volume 1. H chapters have since been featured in each volume except the latest Volume 7. Thus far there has been 12 H Chapters.

The I suffix has been used for chapters focusing on Ilvriss Gemscale. Thus far a chapter in Volume 6 and 7 have used it.

K Chapters

The K suffix has been used for chapters focusing on the King of Destruction Flos Reimarch and Chandrar starting in Volume 2. K chapters have been featured in volumes 2, 4, 5, 6, and 7. Additionally there were two chapters which combined the K suffix with another letter due to having multiple narratives. These were the KM Chapter and the KQ Chapter. Thus far there has been 22 K Chapters.

Note: To follow Flos' whole story, see Flos/Appearances. While much of Flos' storyline has little intersection with the main storyline, there have been several intersections with Erin's story that make separating them difficult. Several K chapters set their focus on different characters than Flos but are closely connected to his story nevertheless.

L Chapters

The L suffix has been used for chapters featuring characters from Liscor besides Erin Solstice starting in Volume 3. Thus far L chapters have featured Lyonette du Marquin, Pawn, Bird, Klbkch, and Yellow Splatters. L chapters were featured in volumes 3-7. Thus far there has been 17 L Chapters. There has also been a LM Chapter which had a combined narrative featuring Liscor.

M Chapters

The M suffix has been used for chapters featuring Magnolia Reinhart in Volumes 4 and 6, and for Mrsha-focused chapters in Volume 3 and 5. Thus far there has been 7 M Chapters. There have also been two combined narrative chapters featuring Magnolia as part of them: KM Chapter and LM Chapter.

N Chapters

The N suffix was used for a single chapter in Volume 4 featuring Niers Astoragon.

O Chapters

The O suffix was used for two chapters in Volume 4 featuring Olesm.

P Chapters

The P suffix has been used for a chapter in Volume 6 focusing on the Players of Celum and another chapter in Volume 7 which focused on Pebblesnatch.

R Chapters

The R suffix was originally used in Volume 1 for chapters focusing on Ryoka Griffin. Following volume 1, Ryoka's perspective was combined into the main non-lettered chapters and further R chapters featuring Ryoka were not done. There were 14 R Chapters in volume 1.

In Volume 7, R was reused for a single lettered chapter but to follow GRiffon Hunt including Revi rather then Ryoka.

S Chapters

The S suffix has been used for chapters focusing on Selys Shivertail starting in Volume 5. S chapters have been featured in Volumes 5, 6, and 7. Thus far there has been 5 S Chapters.

T Chapters

The T suffix has been used for chapters focusing on Toren starting in Volume 2. T chapters have been featured in Volumes 2, 3, 4, 6, and 7. Thus far there has been 9 T Chapters, the four chapters in Volume 3 also heavily focused on the Redfang Elite Warriors while the two chapters in Volumes 4 and 6 also featured Vuliel Drae.

Combined Letter Chapters

Some chapters will combine multiple narratives and have used two letters to represent this with each representing one of the perspectives.

ER Chapters

The ER suffix was used for a single chapter in Volume 7 which had a combined narrative of an E chapter featuring Laken Godart and a R chapter featuring Griffon Hunt.

Chapters: Chapter 7.40 ER

KM Chapters

The KM suffix was used for a single chapter in Volume 4 which had two narratives with one part being focused on the King of Destruction Flos Reimarch and the other on Magnolia Reinhart. It is a combination of the K Chapter suffix and the M Chapter suffix.

Chapters: Chapter 4.06 KM

KQ Chapters

The KQ suffix was used for a single chapter in Volume 7 which had two narratives with one part being focused on the King of Destruction Flos Reimarch and the other on the Queen of Pop Cara O'Sullivan. It is a combination of the K Chapter suffix and was the first use of Q suffix for a chapter.

LM Chapters

The LM suffix was used for a single chapter in Volume 7 which was a combined narrative focused on Liscor and Magnolia Reinhart. It is a combination of the L Chapter suffix and the M Chapter suffix.
